Seeking Sacred Understanding:
Interfaith Conversations with

Rabbi Joe Charnes and special guests.

Since the dawn of humanity, religious expression has been a central component of our shared human experience, a search for answers to life's most challenging questions.

Why are we here? How did life come into being? Does life have ultimate meaning or existential purpose? How does one live a morally righteous life? Are there absolute standards of good and evil, or is morality merely a cultural construct? Why is there evil and suffering in life? Does life continue beyond the grave? What is the nature of sacred revelation?

Please join us for a new monthly (for the most part!) series on Zoom with Rabbi Joe Charnes and religious leaders from across the faith spectrum as they explore these and other questions through sacred dialogue. Our hope is to seek greater understanding of life and self, as well as greater understanding and respect of others.

Seeking Sacred Understanding 2026

Rabbi Joe Charnes with Esteemed Guests: 6 - 7:30 pm MT on Zoom

Wednesdays,
April 15th and 22nd, 2026

How does Jewish tradition actually talk about divorce? Is it frowned upon? Is it a tragedy? Or is it a mitzvah? What ought we say to people going through it? For anyone whose life is directly or indirectly impacted by divorce, you are invited to a class that will bridge the Jewish approach and the modern sensibility around this life stage.

Ezra Weinberg is a rabbi, ritual musician and educator dedicated to facilitating and supporting transformative Jewish rituals. He founded “Jews Get Divorce,” a network of resources for Jews going through Divorce, which aims to redefine the communal response to this life stage.  He is a native Philadelphian and holds a Master’s Degree in Conflict Transformation.

Wednesday
May 20th, 2026
This coming Wednesday, May 20th at 6pm MT time, join us for our Seeking Sacred Understanding series. The wonderful Dr. Sarah Cohen had to reschedule her teaching on Torah Botany: Plants in the Bible for another time.
We are instead honored to host Hannah Sperber. Ms. Sperber's fascinating story began in 1936 Germany. Her father was active in the Nazi party. Years later, after emigrating to the US, she met her husband, a Holocaust survivor. Hannah embraced Judaism and eventually converted and is the mother of three daughters. Join us on zoom to learn more about this incredible story of how a time of cruelty and hatred gave way to a blossoming of love and faith.

Join us at 6 pm on May 20th. Zoom link HERE
